Hi, I'm Caroline Barnes and I'm going to show you now how to create the `swallow'.
So if you've got really big, beautiful eyes, a really dramatic effect for night time is to do the `swallow' look. It's inspired by Cleopatra so it's very bold and very graphic. The slight flick on the outside goes a little bit lower than the original 1950s flick, so I'm going to show you how to do that.
Now the first trick is to remember to actually line the lower lashes first - not the top lid as we did before - so this basically prevents any smudging from the top lid up into your brow when you look up to do the underneath, OK?
So I'm going to apply the Glide & Define from the inner corner of Simone's eye first - taking it on the inner corner and dragging it beautifully across the lower lash line. Now we're doing the lower lash line first so that when we look up we don't get a nice tide mark of black eye liner in our socket line, so it keeps the make-up beautifully clean. Just look up to the ceiling, trace your lower lash line and come out to the outer corner - perfect. Now on the top bit - close your eye for me Simone - take your lower line and drag the liner brush all the way along the top lid and extend out. So remembering the flick went much more of an upward angle, and the `swallow' comes much further out of the eye. Then just connect the two together by colouring in, just on the outer corner - beautiful.
OK to make sure you don't lose your eyes behind the liquid eye liner, I'm going to take a bit of black kohl using Max Factor black kohl pencil just inside the rim of the eye. Just soften the kohl pencil slightly, pull down your eye very slightly and scribble just inside, and this will enable your eyes just to `pop', so they don't shrink behind the heavy dark line. Easy.
Secondly, big lashes are needed for this so I'm going to use Max Factor Masterpiece Beyond Length Mascara, and use the lash-boosting brush to really lift the lashes - look down for me - and add a beautiful pearlescent colour over the top which is very, very modern. With this look, I'm going to use tanned black because it goes beautifully with Simone's colouring. Wow - your lashes look fabulous - and just look towards me...backwards and forwards... and it really ensure your eyes are totally captivating.
And we finish off with out pearlescent top coat, beautifully at the tips of Simone's lashes...gorgeous. Oh, Simone your eyes look really incredible, really strong, really graphic and ultra-modern - you're going to have a great time tonight!
